Clear Paths is an Indigenous-led business based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It offers cycling experiences, Truth and Reconciliation learning, and trail design consulting. Everything is led by Adrian Alphonso.
Adrian is a member of Waywayseecappo First Nation, with Anishinaabe and Guyanese parents. He is a Bicycle Knowledge Holder, Truth and Reconciliation Facilitator and Experiential Educator. He received a CBC Manitoba Future 40 award in 2018.
It is the idea that time on trails can build understanding between people and with the land. Riding and learning together opens space for honest talk about truth and reconciliation.
Two-Eyed Seeing is an approach shared by Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall. It means seeing with the strengths of Indigenous knowledge in one eye and Western knowledge in the other, and using both together.
